Peffery House up for sale!

I was just relaxing in the bath, as you do, and thought I’d take a look at what houses were currently up for sale in the local area on my tablet. I bunged in our postcode and blow me if Peffery House didn’t come with the ridiculous asking price of £125,000. I soon realised that this was the opening bid in an auction set for the 14th of June. I can’t remember seeing any “for sale” signs outside it when we last walked past it the other day, so this must be quite a recent move by the mysterious man that owns it. I’ve never seen an auction where you can’t view the property, which seems a bit weird, hopefully any prospective buyer will know that one of the large Velux skylights around the back has been wide open to the elements for at least the last 18 months, or the fact that it was used as a Cannabis farm for a while😉

I only hope some rich local benefactor comes along and stumps up the cash for it and makes it the Community Centre the village deserves, instead of having to share it with the village school. Who knows, if the various parties that make up the ‘Strathpeffer Together’ alliance get their heads together and have a whip round, they could buy it on behalf of the community and really bring Strathpeffer together. You can but dream.

  1. After the recent success of the newly opened Chinese takeaway in the village, rumours that Peffery House will soon reopen as an Indian restaurant called the “Jalpeffery” are just pure speculation at the present time.
if the Scottish Government ever do legalise the use of Marijuana, it could end up being a very attractive investment for any local entrepreneur because it’s well known that the plants do very well there.

  2. Hi what is happening to 1/8
Peffery House, The Old Station, Strathpeffer, IV1
I see it is up for sale for 125.000 and it could be turned into a residential property also I have heard that there could be squatters in there??

  3. As the article says – it’s up for sale by auction on the 14th.
No squatters as far as I know.
And yes, it would make a lovely family home.

  4. Hi thank you for your reply I was told by the auction house that I could not view as some other people that have attempted to view have been shooed away from the property they do not know why also they are selling it as seen so I would not know what it is like inside considering it was used as a cannibis farm and also apparently a window has been opened upstairs for years opened to all the weather elements and yes I agree it would make a lovely residential property as I was myself thinking of buying this the auction house do not know nothing about the property it is so frustrating I cannot find out anything to go forward I do not live in Scotland so it is difficult for me many thanks.

  5. Yes I agree Jen, it’s all very mysterious.
No viewing so you have to chance it, but it might go for a song!

  6. Hi many thanks for your reply yes it may sell cheaply or not at all the auction house also said it is being sold without possession so whoever purchased it would have to sort out the keys and anything else as it is being sold on behalf of the bank and if there are squatters the purchaser would also have to sort all this out at the end of the day it is a auction house it is there job just to sell and they are not bothered in all the rest they also said that they have not even seen it so it leaves prospective buyers not much to go on unless someone who buys it has inside knowledge 😉 but once again many thanks you have a great day 😊.

  7. Hi there, Jim here, I am from N.I. and was wondering was this property sold at all yesterday? as I am interested in maybe buying this but I know that I am late for the auction.
can anyone shed any light on this at all or if the so called? squatters have definitely been moved on from the property.

  8. Hi Jim, yes it is now sold to a local couple with hopes of turning it into a family home with an annex for a disabled relative.
