Strath Council fights for village handyman

The Community Council recently submitted an extensive paper to the Highland Council Challenge Fund to work with the Council to establish the case for a village 'handyman' who could begin to address the backlog of maintenance in the village: painting, blocked drains, seats, hedges, water features and so on.

We have just been told that we do not qualify for the Challenge Fund whose £1m remains virtually untouched, but advised that the matter has been referred to Community Services for them to discuss with us together with Robbie Bain, our Ward Manager.
